Dr. Clarence J. Ford, Jr. serves as Sr. Pastor of Christian Chapel Temple of Faith Christian Methodist Episcopal Church. He has been in ministry for over 30 years. Dr. Ford’s ministry began at Christian Chapel under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Jerome E. McNeil, Jr.  He served there as the Assistant Pastor for five years.  In that time, he organized and developed Christian Chapel’s outreach ministries, the effects of which remain today. While serving at Christian Chapel, Dr. Ford was recognized by the Belo Corporation for his contribution to the steering committee on the development of the religious section of the Dallas Morning News.  He was also acknowledged for his work with the Dallas County Youth Detention Center, as well as for his leadership with the Dallas Area Community of Churches Justice for the Homeless Task Force.

Prior to his assignment to Christian Chapel, Dr. Ford served as Senior Pastor of Hill Chapel CME Church for 17 years. Through his leadership, Hill Chapel completed the task of retiring its debt and increased its capacity through the acquisition of real estate and the development of moderate housing for families.  He served as the organizing Pastor of Curry Temple CME and as Sr. Pastor of Carter Temple CME.  At Carter Temple, he led the congregation in completing a total restoration of their worship facility and also in completing the debt-free project.  Since 1995, Dr. Ford has led three of the congregations that he has served to develop a prophetic women’s ministry.  Under the banner of “Just Between Sisters,” this ministry conducts empowering spiritual growth classes, as well as an annual women’s conference that has reached women in over five states and two foreign countries.  He was selected by the leadership of the Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University to serve on the “Race, Gender, and Ethnic Concerns” committee.  He also serves as the Director of Social Justice Ministries for the 8th Episcopal District of the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church.

Dr. Ford is a graduate of Texas College in Tyler, TX.  He holds a Master of Church Ministry with a focus in Urban Ministry from Southern Methodist University’s Perkins School of Theology, a Master of Theology (Th.M.) with a focus in Practical Theology from Perkins School of Theology, and a Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.) from Emory University’s Candler School of Theology.  He was also awarded a postgraduate fellowship and an MBA Certification from Tulane University’s A. B. Freeman School of Business.

Dr. Ford has two sons, Jordan Adele Ford and Jared Alexander Ford.  He is joyfully married to Mrs. Dawn Jillian Ford.
