Dr. Jerome McNeil, Jr. is the Senior Pastor of Christian Chapel CME "Temple of Faith" Church, Dallas, Texas, a church with over 5,000 with 60 ministries. As pastor of this historical church, Dr. McNeil has a special focus on equipping churches for 21st century ministries through the worship experience, Leadership Training, team building, and the centrality of prayer, which releases and engages the power, presence, and gifts of the Holy Spirit. Dr. McNeil has a special concern in restoring and encouraging pastors as spiritual leaders, and the role of men in the church. Dr. McNeil has authored more that six books, and is a contributing author of "It's Prayer Time", by Regal Books.
He and his wife of 37 years, Billye Caldwell McNeil is the Director of Counseling at Christian Chapel CME Church, and together they frequently conduct Marriage Enrichment and Relationship Workshops throughout the country.
Dr. McNeil is one of the founding members of the African American Pastors Coalition, Dallas; former Columnist for the Christian Index; Chairman of the Commission on Ministerial Examination of the Dallas-Ft. Worth Annual Conference; and Denominational Prayer Coordinator for the Christian Methodist Episcopal l Church. He is a Board member for the Phillips School of Theology of the ITC Center in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. McNeil serves on the National Board of the One Church One School based out of Chicago, Illinois and is the Founder and Ex-Officio Officer of the Board of the Jordan Community Development Corporation of Dallas, Texas. President of Visions of Joy Ministries Incorporation a leadership Development Ministry for Churches and Pastors.
He has served on the Adjunct Faculty of the University of Houston, University of Texas at Arlington; Prairie View University and Doctoral candidate Advisor United Theological Seminary. He served as Dallas Coordinator and Instructor for the Interdenominational Theological Seminary extension Classes for 4 years. Additionally, Teaching Pastor for Interns for Brite Divinity School, Texas Christian University Ft. Worth, Texas and Perkins School of Theology Southern Methodist University, Dallas.
Dr. McNeil is a former Television and Radio talk Show Host in Houston and Dallas and a Pioneer in Juvenile Justice and Family issues in Texas serving as a Lobbyist in Juvenile Issues for the Texas Coalition Juvenile Justice. He was appointed by late Governor Ann Richards to serve on the Texas Marriage and Family Licensing Board for a 3 year=2 0term. Hired as the highest ranking African American in Dallas County in 1981 he was the Assistant Director for the Dallas County Juvenile Department. In 1983 he became the first African American Family Court Investigator and Counselor for Dallas County.
Dr. McNeil was a delegate to the World Methodist Conference in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and has preached in the Bahamas and Rome, Italy with the World Methodist Evangelism Symposium.
As Pastor of one of the denomination's fastest growing churches, Dr. McNeil has a postmodern approach to seeing transformation in the people of God.
